Mr. David Litala Former Principal |
I feel humbled and greatly honored to contribute to this school website. I wish to thank Elimu Kenya and Computer for Schools Kenya for providing a platform for this initiative, dedication and commitment for this noble venture. Special commendation goes to Getrude Bukhala (Secretary) and Mr. Alfayo Mukhove (computer teacher) for creating this website.
This website shall serve as a multidimensional vehicle through which important issues in this school will be highlighted. It will serve as a reflection of the great minds that Musingu high school has; its aspirations, projections, achievements and challenges. Most off all an identity of whom we are.
The future prospects of developing, nurturing talents and skills in website shall remain as a silent feature only to manifest in the larger society later as one of the long term importance. Musingu high school has been a formidable force on the strength of its values of God loving, integrity, teamwork, hard work and discipline.
I wish to appreciate the boys for the great love they have for their school and for being very industrious in academic and co-curricular activities. Determination and discipline among the boys has been immensely cherished as the school motto clearly stipulates: "Discipline and Hard work."
At present Musingu High School has a population of 1060 (5 streams), a teaching staff of TSC-40 and BOG-08 and support staff of 27.
Parents have been supportive to our programs and projects in the school. Lately, a sixth laboratory is nearing completion, a school van bought, a modern basketball court in place, 90 computers are in school, modern science equipment and apparatus have been purchased, a library and a modern administration block are in place. Additional furniture and water points installed including water reservoirs.
A Strategic Plan for the school and a scheme of terms of conditions of workers drawn by the stakeholders is also available. Empowering the staff through workshops and seminars for efficient services delivery is a program that has continually been effected to ensure good service delivery to our customers.
Other activities that have been notable include the co-curricular where boys have been champions. In various sporting disciplines, both National and International level, have been our domain e.g. the Handball team was in Sweden for Partile Cup in which boys attained diplomas after reaching the quarter finals at the International meet.
Our teaching staff defied all odds in the name of challenges to post good results with a Mean Score of 8.127 i.e. Mean Grade B-. A distinctive feature in these results was the fact that there were 4 plain A’s and one of which was among the top ten in the country.
In conclusion, I would like to thank our academic staff for their sacrifices both individually and collectively, the boys for their love for "The School Of Our Choice" and for their "Tsunami" pace. May God strengthen us all to have wisdom and courage in our pursuits for all the years to come and I wish our esteemed readers best of regards.David Litala
